My dad made a Christmas video this year.  Check it out:

Yesterday I'd read a preview about a new adventure game called Runaway: The Dream of The Turtle.  This prompted me to visit the official website where I downloaded the trailer they had available and I learned that there was a demo as well, in French.  

The developer, Pendulo, is a Spain based developer that makes their games in French.  Although Runaway will be localized for North America and will have English voice actors when it is released in March of next year, it's currently already released in Europe and Quebec in a French version.

So I downloaded the demo and was struck by just how bad my understanding of the French language was.  Particularly when it's non-Quebec French and spoken much much more quickly for the purposes of the game.  However, by reading the French subtitles as I listened I was able to understand pretty much everything that was said.  One or two key words escaped me but it didn't take long before I figured out what the characters were talking about.  In fact, after about 15 minutes of playing the demo my brain had woken up and I didn't have any trouble understanding at all, I even started thinking in French.   

As promised here is the video I shot while we were on honeymoon.  I'd like to point out that it's really hard to hold a small camera steady enough to shoot video so please forgive me for the shakiness.

Well we're back from our honeymoon.  I guess we've been back since about Saturday but what with the good news we got while we were on our vacation we've been a little busy this week and I haven't had a chance to update the web page.  All of our pictures are now online, and I'll work on getting the videos I made into a more web-friendly format.

Overall Erin and I weren't huge fans of the trip.  In retrospect the whole idea of a Caribbean cruise was a bad idea; neither of us like the sun, or sitting around in the heat, and I get sea sick really easily.  What were we thinking?

The first two days were actually pretty bad, the seas were very rough and I spent most of my time in a Gravol induced haze.  At the end of the second day we arrived in San Juan Puerto Rico and disembarked for the evening.  Overall San Juan was pretty interesting and I was upset that we didn't get to spend more time there.  It's too bad we only had the evening there because it seems like the island had a lot of history and I would have liked to have learned more about it.  One interesting thing though was seeing all the Christmas displays.  

Contrary to popular opinion I don't spend all my "Marc" time playing video games.  I watch TV too.  

All kidding aside I have been working on some little side projects.  Since Marc & Erin.com has settled into a nice little web-functional niche I no longer get to play around with it.  As annoying as getting CSS to work the way I want it to (I'm looking at you Internet Explorer) it provides a challenge for me and it can be fun.   So now that I'm finished with the single player of Neverwinter Nights 2 I've taken on a couple projects. 

I've agreed to make a new website for my friend Garett, and I've started to created levels and content for an online persistent world for Neverwinter Nights 2.

Reportage sent me an uncompressed version of the album we'll be getting.  I took the liberty of unpacking the pdf they'd sent me and I've put all the images online in our Picture section.  There are two version, the album version, which shows how it'll look when we get it, and the raw images version, which only has the images without any of the placing they did.

Erin and I are getting our new couches from Ikea tonight.  I couldn't be more excited.  The ones we have now just piss me off all the time.  The cushions like to move all over the place and come out of the couch, it's really irritating.  I'll have some pictures of our new furniture once they're delivered and in place.  

I guess we'll have to see what the animals think of them.  I think Chloe will be upset, she likes to sleep under our current couches and she won't be able to fit under the new ones.
